US Postal Service stops accepting parcels from China

US Post Service (USPS) says it has temporarily stopped accepting parcels from the mainland of China and Hong Kong.

The messages will not be affected by the comment, according to a statement on the company’s website.

He said that the comment will be a practice “until another notice” and did not provide any explanation for the decision.

Usps did not immediately respond to the BBC news request for comment.

This comes after Donald Trump imposed an additional 10 % tariff on all goods imported to the United States from China.

Trump’s executive order also canceled an exemption that allowed commodities worth $ 800 (474 ​​pounds) or less to enter the United States without having to pay certain duties or taxes.

The “De Minimis” tax vulnerability has faced the increasing in recent years, as Chinese e -commerce giants such as Shein and TEMU to reach millions of American customers.

US officials have indicated that the large flow of parcels that enter the country through this exemption made it increasingly difficult to examine potentially illegal goods.
