Former Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, is supposed to have begun a coup for Luiz inácio da silva after ruling in the top court of the country.
The five -member panel of the Supreme Court continued to vote unanimously in favor of the trial.
It was possible to start early this year, and the 70 -year -old Bolsonaro could be sentenced to imprisonment for several years.
After the court’s decision, Bolso Naro said at a press conference that allegations of it were “scary and no basis.” He always tried to stop Lula’s inauguration.
“They seem to have personal things,” he added to X’s post, referring to the judges.
Bolso said that he was a victim of “political persecution” to prevent him from running again in 2026.
The panel was in charge of determining whether there was enough evidence to put Bolsonaro into the trial.
The first vote on Wednesday was Alexandre de Moraes, a judge leading the panel.
He recommended that Bolsonaro and seven other former government officials would be tried on seven former government officials described as “co -conspirators” on January 8, 2023, a week after Lula’s inauguration.
The seven men prosecuted as a co -conspirator are as follows.

US President Donald Trump’s former army captain and praise Bolsonaro dominated Brazil from January 2019 to December 2022.
He lost his presidential election in October 2022 to his left -wing rival Lula.
Bolso Naro never publicly recognized his defeat. Many of his supporters spent several weeks of camping outside the army to convince the army to prevent the oath of Lula, as scheduled for January 1, 2023.
A week after Lula’s inauguration on January 8, 2023, thousands of Bolsonaro supporters attacked the government’s government building, and federal investigators attempted a coup.

Brazilian lawyer Paulo Gonet went further in his report last month, and he accused Bolsonaro that he led a criminal organization to overthrow Lula.

Bolsonaro has always denied the claims designed to motivate politically and to prevent running for the president again.
He is already forbidden to run for office by 2030 to false Brazil’s voting system to be vulnerable to fraud, but he has declared his intention to fight for the second term in 2026.
