Iraq sandstorm leaves 1,800 with breathing problems

City Hall: A heavy sand storm causes orange fog and low visibility throughout the southern Iraq.

Health officials said that more than thousands of people have been suffering from respiratory problems after the sand storms were swept through the central and southern regions of Iraq.

An official at Muthanna Province reported that at least 700 cases of AFP news agencies were choking.

The online -shared videos showed an area full of thick orange fog, and there are local media reporting power cuts and stopping flights in various regions.

In Iraq, dust storms are common, but some experts believe that climate change is becoming more frequent.

The Ministry of Environment in Iraq warns that this country will see more “dust work.”

According to AFP, pedestrians and police wore facial masks to protect themselves from dust, and paramedics were on the spot to help people who are having difficulty in real estate.

Regional health authorities said that the hospitals in Muthanna Province in southern Iraq have received at least 700 choking.

More than 250 people of NAJAF were transferred to the hospital, and at least 322 patients, including children, were sent to the hospital in Diwaniyah.

More 530 people reported breathing problems in DHI QAR and BASRA.

Sand storms have been covered with southern Iraq with orange clouds, reducing visibility to less than 1km (0.62 miles).
