Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron did not know what to think when they suddenly found themselves upside down in the fifth round of their first struggle, an aircraft, fell head in an apron in the ring in an ugly plot.

“The way that happened was so fast. I didn’t even feel the ropes if I was honest, it was weak and the next thing you know I’m on the floor,” Whittaker said Sky Sports.

Cameron progressed, pressing into Whittaker while the Olympic silver medal was supported by the rope.

Cameron is not sure how they fell. “He pulled himself. You can see him on the screen. Definitely withdrawn, his head returns before he crosses over the ropes. It was a shock. And I fell and fell on my head,” he said he said Sky Sports.

“I couldn’t control myself because he wrapped his hands. I really couldn’t put my hands down because they held them. It happened so quickly, one minute we were boxing, we crossed the ropes next minute.”

Whittaker is a smile on the idea that he was somehow deliberately thrown out of both of them from the ring.

“It was madness,” he said. “When you look back, the ropes were down, my neck was on the floor. It was strange. But people always go out with these stupid phrases:” Oh, he did it, he did it. “I say you get there and give it to it.

“At the end of the day I am a professional, I’ll come back and do what I have to do professionally.”

Whittaker and Cameron will go on Sunday at BP Pulse Live Arena in Birmingham, Live Sky Sports.

After the ring fell in the first fight, Cameron managed to run through the ropes to continue boxing. But Whittaker stayed down. His strongly criticized since Cameron has not continued. But Whittaker was injured.

“Somehow I am blessed that it was just an ankle, because it could have been a lot worse. Maybe he could be life, the way I landed on my neck at the beginning,” Whittaker said.

“I probably was no longer boxing. So, for me, I’m happy to just go through with it. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again and we have to have a trilogy. That would be typical!”

Ankle injury was a real problem for him. “Since I had previous injuries before they took care of them, but it was actually my ankle,” Whittaker said.

“Did he rehab, did what I had to do and we started from there and now it’s strong.”

Since Whittaker couldn’t continue, the fight went to a technical decision based on the circles that passed and got a draw.

Cameron, however, was unwavering that he deserved more.

“It was strange because I still had an emotion of the fight and I think it was turned on, is that excluded? For me it had to be made forever to make a decision,” he recalled.

“You could claim he had two circles, the rest to me. I looked at him in the first round, he tried to give me everything. He came out in the first round, but I let him go.

“(In the end) I was thinking what was going on? Did I win? I thought I had to win. And they read the draw and I thought I Wow.”

Cameron claims that Whittaker felt under pressure from the beginning of that first fight.

“He was very tired of the second round. And I remember thinking that this was a bluff or what?

“By making sounds, pushing his shots and there was nothing in them and I thought he was (exhausted). A few rounds after that, we poured over the ropes.”

Whittaker is determined to settle the result when they bring a rematch on Sunday.

“It’s funny about it. Many people do Liam something he’s not,” Whittaker insisted.

“What did he actually do to talk to him? What made him talk about being the end result, flying over the ropes.

“People saw me and from 10 I was probably one or two in the ring. I still think he struggled with that,” Whittaker added.

“For me, 10/10 or 8/10 Ben is a completely different job there.”

Happy draw?

A former world title challenger and Sky Sports Boxing expert Matt Macklin said, “At the time, I had a level of struggle.”

But he added, “The fight pattern, running games saying in football, did not go to Whittaker’s path, Cameron was at the top. It was one of those crushed incidents where they both crossed the rope, and I don’t know how anyone could know how to feel and if he hurt all these people now.

“These things can happen in the ring, I don’t think he tried to pull him over the rope. I just think he was leaning, he leaned back, and body weight and swing pushed them both. I don’t think they are orchestrated in advance.

“I don’t know how anyone could know how he felt it. I saw it like anyone, I can’t tell you if it was hurt or hurt. I think it probably managed to get it because the fight started to get a little resolve, and Cameron was definitely on top and got more at the top.

“That was said, he didn’t try to happen, the incident just happened. That couldn’t have anymore – I couldn’t do it if he tried!

“I don’t know if he was injured or not, but I would say there was a very good chance after falling that way.

“After the performance, I think he is aware that he probably got out of the draw. Will he ever say it publicly, who knows, but deep down he knows he pulled it out.”
