Corey Flintoff, a 19-year-old son of former English captain of England and winner Ashes Andrew, signed a two-year-old Rookie Agreement with Kent, he could oppose his brother Rocky in the County Championship this season.
Corey, a comprehensive versatile like a father, will meet the conditions for Kent around his university studies after joining the county now trained by former Surrey and English skipper Adam Hollioak.
The teenager, who passed the Lancashire paths, extinguished four offices in Kent’s two -day warming against Essex last week, in front of their two -championship opener in Northamptonshire from April 4 after last year’s relegation.
Corey vs brother Rocky in another division?
Corey’s younger brother Rocky, 16, will join him in another division, and Lancashire will also fall out of the top flight 2024.
Kent should play Lancashire at Blackpool in June, before welcomed a month later at Canterbury to return.
Rocky made his county championship last summer and one day of the Lancashire Cup, while this winter he became the youngest player who reached the century for the English lions, breaking his father’s record when he achieved three figures against Australia XI in Brisbane.
Andrew Flintoff – who made more than 200 appearances for England between 1998 and 2009 – was the main coach of Lions on that tour.
