US Ambassador to Ukraine to leave his post

According to the people acquaintance with her decision, Bridget Brink, US Ambassador to Ukraine, leaves the reinforcement of disagreements with the Presidential Administration Donald Trump.

Her departure also takes place against the backdrop of her working relationship with the President of Ukrainian Volodimir Zelensky, although this did not cause her refusal to do, people said.

Brink is a career diplomat that was appointed Trump during his first term, which acts as a US ambassador to Slovakia. Later, she was appointed ambassador to Ukraine by President Joe Biden.

People familiar with Brinka’s decision on leaving down, they said that the pressure from the senior activists of the Trump administration, who questioned her readiness to support her strategy of Ukraine, was being exerted.

Trump’s policy towards Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has broken most of Biden’s work, which supported Kiev with billions of military and financial assistance and imposed sanctions on Moscow.

Trump presses the rapid end of the war and sought to normalize US relations with Russia through direct negotiations with President Vladimir Putin and called Zelenskyy “dictator”.

The State Department’s press -secretary said: “Ambassador Brink leaves the post. She has been an ambassador there for three years – it is a long time in the war zone.”

The White House and the State Department did not comment on questions about the disagreement between the Trump administration and Brinka.

Brink could not immediately address the comments.

Recently, there was a clear tension between Brinka and Zelensky. Last week, he issued a statement critical before the ambassador after the Russian Blood’s hometown of the Royal City, which killed 20 people, including nine children.

After the attack, Brink wrote on x: “In horror that tonight the ballistic missile hit the playground and the restaurant in the blood. More than 50 people were injured and 16 were killed, including 6 children. That is why the war should end.”

Zelensky noted the absence of any direct assignment for the Brink attack, and said further Telegram: “Unfortunately, the reaction of the American embassy is unpleasant: such a strong country, such a strong people – and such a weak reaction. In addition, they are afraid to say the word” Russian “when they talk about the rocket that killed the children.”

Brink used her Last post on x Wednesday to understand who was in charge of the attack.

“Today I honored families and loved ones.

Western diplomats in Kiev said Brink was the most important supporter of Kyiv in the state and private of the first weeks of a full -scale invasion of Russia in 2022.

One called it “strong character” and “serious diplomats”, but pressure in Trump’s offices and Zelensky took the opportunity.

Ukrainian officials said they see how Brink is too critical of them, especially in the country’s efforts to introduce corruption.
