But the owners complain that the building has several problems that require correction of work and sue a subsidiary of private property Laing O’Rourke, which built the building for £ 35 million.

One of the Hyde Park Limited brought a lawsuit in 2021, and the civil lawsuit began on Thursday.
The court heard that Laing O’Rourke did not “participate” in court and did not send legal representatives.
Andrew Rigney of the Criminal Code, who represented the owners claimed that the parent group Laing O’Rourke withdrew financial support from the subsidiary shortly before the court began, and claimed that it was part of the “intentional and cynical evasion strategy” for financing.

While Laing O’Rourke suggested carrying out work, there was no possible settlement agreement, the lawyer added in written arguments. “With the exception of several isolated examples, the necessary correctional work was not carried out,” he added.
