Manchester United rose to second place in the Women’s Super League table with a 3-0 win over Brighton as their positive start to 2025 continues.
Mark Skinner’s side upset Manchester City in Derby last weekend before producing another dominant display to see out the Seagulls, who failed to register a single shot on target.
Ella Toone extended her scoring exploits with another goal to add to the two she scored against City, collecting Elizabeth Terland through the ball in her stride and sweeping Sophie Bagley through the openers.
Skinner has had to draw criticism for his team’s over-the-top approach this season – United maintain the tightest defense in the league – but they are ultimately improving too, scoring 14 in four games in all competitions since the turn of the year.
Hinata Miyazawa made a home run with her left foot nine minutes after ToOne’s opener, while Celin Bizet added midway through the second half when nutmegging Maisie Symonds slotted past Baggaley from Range.
