AND The Women’s Team USA will face Brazil twice over the next four days in a rematch Last summer of the epic Paris Gold Medal Game Olympics. The Americans beat 1-0 thanks to the elite goal Mallory Swanson to acquire their first gold medal in 12 years.

The introductory match takes place on Saturday afternoon at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles and indicates the first time that the place will hold a women’s professional sports event. Then both teams will head to San Jose, California, to finish the double head at PayPal Park on Tuesday night.

Setting up Emme Hayes will not look just like a team that took the Paris terrain. For one, Swanson is not in this camp or Sophia Wilson. Only Trinity Rodmanone third of the ‘triple espresso’, was Available to select. Central back Naomi Girma And Tierna Davidson, who recently demolished her ACL, will not participate. Without a piece Nawnt Starters, Hayes promised to continue experimenting in these two games. This means to provide players with fewer caps with more experience, so when the next World Cup in 2027 is moving, there will be a larger pool of players with significant international experience in Hayes Arsenal.

Here’s what you need to know about Nawnt during this April:

There will be even more experimentation

Ever since Nawnt won gold last summer, training camps has been followed by more experienced players so Hayes and her staff can expand the player’s pool.

For example, players like Lily Yohannes, Tara McKeown and Ally Sentrnor have had the opportunity to earn records and play in high pressure situations in the last few months. Hayes said Sentrnor told her that after the final defeat at Shebelieves Cup in February, it was a “hardest game” she played in her career. Hayes’ goal is to create more such moments for players to be better armed to win the 2027 World Cup.

But accommodation in the Nawnt environment takes time. And Hayes wants to see the players take learning from one game and apply it to the next, and the next afterwards.

“What I learned to be in this business is how much it means to play for this players team,” Hayes said on Friday. “And with that comes pressure and expectations:” I have to top, at the top, all the time on top, which is great. That’s aspirative. They are reality, you have to feel your path to that arena. And what I noticed in this camp is a gap that closes throughout the board and that is our first starting point. “

Experimenting means that the connections on the field may not be so powerful or fresh, but it will help Hayes and her staff be deliberate in connection with the combinations of players in the future.

For Hayes is not about the beating of Brazil now; It’s about defeating them in the World Cup in the future.

“You can’t go from experience (one game) to dominance,” Hayes said. “It’s a step by step process.

“… I want to be in a position to qualify for the World Cup to have a really strong group that has a accumulation first of all. And now, already, I already see how it happens, which is great for us … I want (players) to go through this part of the journey the way they get the right to exposure at the right time and not only are they at the right time.”

Where Cat Macario stands physically and mentally?

Macario endured a turbulent journey due to injuries. After a long recovery of ACL, he held it for a long time from the field, Macario faced another unforeseen failure last summer when he was drawn from the Olympic Games list for “knee irritation”. She returned to her Chelsea composition earlier this season and returned to Nawnt for Shebelieves Cup.

The 25-year-old can play roles number 9 or number 10 and is finally healthy enough to play the main role of Hayes in preparation for the next World Cup (which would be Macario first with Nawnt). Hayes said that Macario would play more than nine because of his ability to connect the game between the lines and because she was “threatening in the box”.

Due to her unpleasant injuries, Macario has only 21 caps and nine goals for the US Hayes said that people do not realize that “they are still growing in the WNT T -shirt” and that she had to remind the player – who she recruited and trained in Chelsea – “all the great things he brings in this team.”

“Did we see the best cat Macario? Absolutely no,” Hayes said. “How long will it take? I always say to the players this: they need to play continuously, stay on the field. I think she’ll go through this (club) season for her and get another preseason under her belt, I think we’ll start seeing how to go to another level.

“She is a wonderful soul and someone who is so desperate that she gets well for our program. So, she has another opportunity to do so.”

Growth of Alyssa Thompson

One of the more intriguing players in this squad is 20-year-old Thompson. The young striker earned his first cap as a teenager in October 2022 and was – perhaps early – part of the 2023 World Cup list. But because of the injury, she has been fell for a service for some time.

In the past six months, however, she has worked in Haye’s plans and has seen regular Nawnt calls. She had a strong start to the NWSL season, scoring two goals in the first three games of Angel City.

“In our future, I hope that we will be able to look at someone like the situation of Alyssa Thompson, that is, a 17-year-old who has entered the program, probably under prepared because the level is so higher,” Hayes said. “I think she was at the best place where she was in terms of her start (NWSL) season. During the weekend I went to play Angel City and thought she was fantastic.”

Since October, NAWNT staff cooperates with Thompson positioned and in his decision-making processes. Hayes and staff will say Thompson like, “Listen, at a top level, you are a great specialist 1-V-1, but when you play the best players in the world, they know how to give up on you where they do not give you a 1-V-1 opportunity,” Hayes said. They teach her better to connect with others, and end up with property.

“When you play for me, I overload you by tactically taking the player to another level,” Hayes said. “But it means a while, a lot of thinking happens – you have to remember here and that.

“I feel with Alyssa now, she understands it, so it’s able to do it more natural. So, I’m really looking forward to seeing her for these reasons in this camp.”
