In 2020, at the height of the Covid-19s, hundreds of thousands of students moved to the streets of the Thai capital, Bangkok, which led to huge demonstrations and an unprecedented protest movement in the “Smile Land”. These young Thai challenges greater taboos in the Kingdom by calling for ownership reform. Five years later, some demonstrators are still fighting for more democracy. Others, who are frustrated by extreme repression, have lost hope to change their country’s policy.
