The government of Nicaragua has strengthened President Daniel Ortega’s grip on power on Thursday when the constitution was amended to grant Ortega and his wife Rosario Morillo, “absolute power.” The amendment, which is proposed by Ortega, is forming Murillo as a “co -president”, and transmits legislative, judicial and supervisory control of the country.
