As several more Israeli hostages return to their families after 15 months in captivity, FRANCE 24’s Mark Owen greets Anat Ron Kendall from the hostage square in Tel Aviv. Mrs. Ron Kendall lost her father on October 7, when Hamas militants and their allies launched the deadliest attack ever on Israeli soil. As she continues to grieve the loss of her father and the lives of so many others who were brutally taken, she remains “steadfast” and “happy to be reuniting families,” as she experiences a wide range of emotions: “sadness, anxiety, grief.” It’s all happiness mixed together.” She further makes the distinction between Gazans and the Hamas militants who have controlled Gaza for nearly two decades. Ms. Ron Kendall values ”life, every life,” as she wants to see as many hostages returned as possible. To their loved ones, at all costs, and would equally like to see the people of Gaza “return to some kind of normal life.”
