The results for the NBA awards will soon be pierced, so it is time for the highlighted reel of my types, as well as my playoff predictions.
It is always an honor to be among the media members who have been selected to vote for awards, although my eyes are left behind by watching games and analysis of statistics, and I have definitely lost my dream thinking about some very difficult decisions.
But unfortunately, the ballot is filled. The playoffs begins. And here’s how I think everything should fall.
This year, the best player at the best team deserves the award. Gilgeous-Alexander led the youngest team in the NBA in a season of 68 wins, an average of 32.7 points in league points in playing at an extremely effective shooting of 51.9 percent. Had a maximum of 20, 30, 40 and Games of 50 points of anyone in the league. Not to mention, he had the smallest percentage of traffic than anyone with a rate of use or more in the last 20 seasons.
But what really pushed him over the edge for this award was his phenomenal two -way game. He was one of the best veterans at the best rated defensive team in the league. Not only did he lead the NBA in victories, but also in the defensive shares of victory, ranking the first five thefts.
While his competition is a prize, Nikola JokicHe also set up stunning numbers at the offensive end, playing Gilgeous-Alexander at both ends of the field gave him an advantage in a very close race with two horses.
Defense player of the year: Draymond Green
When Victor Wembanyama The season came to an unexpected end due to deep venous thrombosis in the right shoulder in February, this award appeared to capture. Green was distinguished from his competitors. Best argument for Green to win a defense player of the year? Watch him play. He can keep one to five, reads the pitch better than anyone, and his genius lies in stopping the plays before even happening, a phenomenon that does not appear in the box re-classes. See what he did against Zion Williamson and Giannis Antetocounmpo This season, for reference.
After the All-Star break, Warriors They were the best rated defensive team in the league. (They finished seventh.) And although the statistics speak only part of the story when it comes to green, he shone in advanced measuring data, coming to number 1 in the LeBron LeBon League,
Coach of the Year: Kenny Atkinson
Under Atkinson, Cavaliers They did not just exceed their expectations, they broke them. They went from thinking about a team that should play the playoffs, to a team that not only won top-notch seeds at the Eastern Conference, but also considered a Shoo-In to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
Atkinson diverted the insult of the Cavaliers, emphasizing the movement of the ball and cracking in 3 points, while removing the part of the load of all-star Donovan Mitchell. The Cavaliers opened the record of 15-0 and have not lost much money since then, ending with the highest rated offense in the league, which is a huge jump from their 16th place last year.
Rookie year: Stephon Castle
Castle on average 42.8 percent shot 42.8 percent, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 26.7 minutes during 81 games this season. He led all the acceptable scoring seats and was named MVP in Rising Stars game during the All Star Weekenda, as well as in the Slam Dunk competition. Castle is one of four novices who have more games of 30 points this season. The terrain for this award was not strong this season, and Castle did only so much to separate.
Finals: Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers
In the east the ruling champion Celtics will progress, with a duet Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown Ultimately they get the best of Cavaliers. Despite the incredible Cavs season, they do not have enough experience in playing in high roles games to pass the Duo who played together for eight seasons, reaching the finals of the conference six times and twice the championship.
In the West Lakers will make the finals because a certain 40-year-old has been appointed LeBron James He knows this is one of his last opportunities to win his fifth championship, and he now truly believes he has the opportunity to happen together Luka Doncic. James knows how to go all the way, winning four championships and scoring 10 final appearances, including eight in a row from 2011 to 2018. In the meantime, Doncic took Dallas Mavericks Until the finals last year, before they shocked the world, dealing with the 25-year-old in his premiere one of their rivals in February. James and Doncic lead their games to the second level of the playoff time, and together, together Austin ReavesIt will create nightmares for defense.
MVP final: Luka Doncic
He publicly humiliates the generational superstar by tearing him out of the franchise he wanted to play for his entire career, call him out of form … and watch what is happening.
