What is the NBA playing tournament?
The NBA Governor Governor has approved the adoption of the NBA full-time playing tournament in July 2022. In the NBA 2024-25 season, the playing tournament will be held from April 15 to April 18, 2025, between the last day of the regular season of April 13 and the start of the playoffs on April 19.
The tournament includes four teams with the seventh to the tenth best percentage of victory in the Eastern and Western Conferences. After six games, seventh and eighth seeds at each conference, it will be determined for the NBA playoffs.
When is the NBA playing tournament?
The NBA tournament at the NBA 2025 will be held from Tuesday, April 15 to Friday, April 18th.

Tuesday, April 15th
- Game Game 1: East 7 Seeds Compared to East 8 Seeds
- Game Play 2: West 7 Seed Vs. West 8 Seed
Wednesday, April 16th
- Game Game 3: East 9 seeds against East 10 seeds
- Game Play 4: West 9 Seed Vs. West 10 Seed
Friday, April 18th
- Play game 5: Game loser 1 against the winner of the game 3
- Game Game 6: Game loser 2 against the winner of the game 4
How does the NBA Play-in tournament work?
Seventh and eighth seeds at each conference will be played in the first games in the games of April 15, and the ninth and tenth seeds in each conference will play on April 16. The winners of 7-8 games will move to the playoffs as seed no. 7. The losers of the 7-8 games will face the winners of 9-10 games on April 18, and the seed 8 on line. A team that loses will be disqualified by the playoffs.
Game losers from 9-10 are disqualified from the playoffs.
Basically, teams that end the seventh and eighth at their conference after the NBA season get two chances to make a place in the NBA playoffs.
