Beirut – Health officials in southern Lebanon said that the Israeli forces killed two people and wounded 17 on Monday on the second day of the deadly protests in southern Lebanon, while the displaced residents of the 14 -month war between Israel and Hezbollah tried to return to the villages where the Israeli forces are still.
The shooting came a day after 24 people were killed and more than 130 people were wounded when the Israeli forces opened fire on the demonstrators who violated the road barriers that were built along the border.
Under the ceasefire in the United States on November 27, the Israeli forces withdrew from southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah had to move north of the Litani River by January 26. The deadline, Israel remained in more than ten villages.
The United States and Lebanon later announced on Sunday that the deadline for meeting the ceasefire conditions has spanned February 18.
In a previously recorded speech broadcast on Monday, Hezbollah leader Naim Casim said that his group would not accept the extension of the deadline for the ceasefire, without addressing the fact that the Lebanese government had already done so.
“Israel must withdraw because 60 days have ended,” Casim said. “We will not accept any excuses to extend a second or one day.”
He added: “Any delay in withdrawing is the responsibility of the United Nations, the United States, France and Israel.”
Casem also said that his group did not violate the conditions of the ceasefire and admitted that they considered the revenge against the Israeli air strikes, but they were advised by the Lebanese authorities against it.
The protests were resumed, especially in the eastern border villages, where the residents again tried to return to their homes. The Ministry of Health reported that the Israeli forces opened fire, killing one person in the town of Odyssece and wounding seven others in four southern villages, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Israeli army blamed Hezbollah for pushing people to protest and said that the soldiers shot warning shots when the demonstrators approached.
In the village of Aitaroun, dozens of unarmed population, some of them waving Hezbollah’s flags, were walking side by side or motorcycles, accompanied by ambulances, bulldozers and Lebanese army reservoirs. They approached the edge of the city, but they stopped Israeli positions, unable to enter.
Salim Murad, the mayor, said: “We are coming with our high heads and crowned by beating our village, Aitaroun.” “Our village is our cause, and we will return it more beautiful than it was before. We are staying.”
“We have to give our blood and our souls. If there is no blood blood, the earth will not be liberated.”
The National News Agency in Lebanon stated that Israel had dropped a bomb at the entrance to the southern village of Yaron to deter residents from moving forward.
In the town of Bint JBeil, Hezbollah members distributed leaflets that include the killing leader Hassan Nasrallah in the words, “Victory arrived.” Some of the population waved the flags of Hezbollah.
Israel blamed the Lebanese army for not deploying it in the area enough quickly, while the Lebanese army accused Israel of stopping its withdrawal, making publication efforts.
Some family members who entered the border villages on Sunday discovered the bodies of their relatives. Israeli strikes have killed more than 4,000 people during the war, but the Lebanese authorities do not distinguish between fighters and civilians in their number.
Since the ceasefire began, Israel has conducted almost daily operations such as the demolition of homes, bombing and air purposes in southern Lebanon, accusing Hezbollah of violating the conditions for the ceasefire by trying to transport weapons. Lebanon, in turn, accused Israel of hundreds of violations of the ceasefire.
