Sir Keir Starmer gathered about 20 countries interested in shaping the Coalition to support Ukraine after the ceasefire, European officials said on Thursday.

A group of countries, allegedly “largely European and partners in the Commonwealth,” held talks this week when there were crazy transatlantic discussions to try to ensure a truce in Ukraine’s war with Russia.

British officials refused to name the countries that took part in the negotiations. “These are early stages, and the situation is very fluent,” one said, but added, “This is an extremely positive step.”

Last Sunday, the British Prime Minister held leaders from 13 mostly European countries to talk about the “Coalition Coalition” to support Ukraine.

Britain and France suggested sending troops to Ukraine to help provide any truce, and Starmer said others were also ready to join the multinational force in the country.

This week there were signs that the coalition expanded after 20 countries took part in the UK discussions. People who informed about the negotiations said that the participants were officials from the foreign ministries, usually at the level of the political director.

Negotiations are related to the meeting of the Heads of Defense in Paris next week, one of the people said, adding that “all these meetings are security guarantees and that they are mostly filled with the same countries.”

British officials stressed that while the call countries wanted to help secure peace in Ukraine, they did not seek to join the Great Britain/France.

Canada, the Nation of the Commonwealth, which participated in the London talks on Sunday, expressed interest in joining the “Coalition” of the eager older to help provide any truce in Ukraine.

On Sunday, Starmer also conducted a video call with the leaders of the three Baltic states. British officials refused to say whether they were presented at the meeting on Wednesday.

The British Prime Minister closely cooperates with French President Emmanuel Macron in partnership with the President of Ukraine VolodyMyr Zelenskyy to make a peace plan to present US President Donald Trump.

European diplomats said it would be unclear what would happen next, but “things can move very quickly” and that they expected that in the coming days, “another moment of Zelensky Trump”.

Zelensky now noted that he was ready to sign minerals from the US and work with Trump over the peace plan. Starmer and Macron urged the President of Ukraine to urgently restore bridges with Trump after last week in the oval office.

People have informed about the negotiations, say it is unclear whether Zelensky will travel to Washington with Starmer and Macron, or could he better return to the White House at this delicate stage.

“It can be a phone call from Zelenskyy,” said one of the European diplomats. “There is a lot of talk at the moment. It is unclear when Starmer and Macron can return to Washington or will be Zelensky.”

British officials say the direct purpose for Starmer is to ensure the signing of Zelenskyy.

One official informed about the negotiations, said: “Britain is more carrots, and the Americans are more adhered to – but it is a good double act. Americans should know, although the British pressure on Ukraine to interact seriously with the ceasefire to cause the Russian bluff.”

Hope in London is that after Zelenskyy signed a deal with minerals, Trump is pressured on Vladimir Putin to agree with the ceasefire. “When the Russians whisper around, Trump breaks them,” said one of the European diplomats.

On Thursday, Russia said it “strongly” opposed any transaction that allows European troops to act as peacekeepers in Ukraine.

Ireland that is a military neutral and has a long tradition of peace, said it “Not found to wish” on any European peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. Previously on Thursday Starmer and Taoiseach Micheál Martin agreed It is more closely working on foreign and safe cooperation and military training, as well as on energy and maritime safety.

John Hill, the UK Defense Minister, was in Washington on Thursday, trying to convince his American counterpart Pitt Hugset that Europe is ready to help secure peace, but that it needs American military cover as a “back platform”.

Some European diplomats are concerned that Trump will not persuade the dilemma for such old and Macron as to whether the peacekeeping force of any kind.

Starmer won elastic from the entire political spectrum for Trump’s talks – including his visit to the White House last week – and one British observer said the chemistry between two leaders was intriguing.

“When the Prime Minister focuses on something that he is really focusing and is decisive,” the man said. “It does not risk slightly and reluctantly unfolds, but it works for Trump.

“But the Prime Minister listens to him, he does not try to recruit discussion points and not get the last word, but quietly and measured his arguments land with the president.”
