Brussels has launched an investigation into Shein, the e -commerce platform in China, amid fears that the company is violating European consumer protection bases by selling illegal products.

A European Union official said on Wednesday that there is a “reasonable complaint” for the widespread violations of the European Union’s consumer protection laws by the company. Brussels study whether Shane paid the terms of the unfair contract, reduce misleading prices and unfair commercial practices. There is already an ongoing similar investigation against TEMU, Chinese online shopping business.

It is the newest problem for Laen, the Singapore -based fast fashion collection that plans to publicly exchange its shares in London in the first half of 2025, which aims to evaluate 50 billion pounds. Donald Trump’s campaign to access the customs tariffs of small goods may condemn its business model.

The European Union probe is part of a larger campaign on the flood of imports from China, amid concerns about the high and fake goods shipped from Asia. Brussels announced on Wednesday plans to make e -commerce platforms such as Temu, Shein and Amazon Marketplace responsible for dangerous or illegal products that are sold online. More than 90 percent of the lower value parcels of 4.6 billion that were imported to the European Union in 2024 from China.

Shen said that she is involved in “a goal of guarantee that European consumers can shop online with peace of mind” and that the company intends to “work closely” with the national protection authorities and the European Commission to address any concerns.

If Shin has turned out to have violated consumer protection rules in the European Union, he risks a fine by national authorities throughout the European Union.

SHEIN is already investigated by the committee under separate rules that emanate from the market behavior of large online platforms. In this investigation, Shen risks fines up to 6 percent of her annual rotation worldwide.

Shen, who sells clothes from thousands of Chinese companies at low prices around the world, is still waiting for the Chinese organizers to offer their approval to include them abroad.

Last summer, the group presented the secret papers to the UK’s financial organizer for a list and is still subject to a meager. She targeted New York first, but she moved to London after the American organizers rejected it.

Shein was also in Crosshairs of UK MPS recently and was accused of not respecting a parliamentary committee after she refused to answer multiple questions about the safety of its supply chain as part of a wider achievement.

The company later provided written responses to some of the question, but Liam Bern, the committee chairman, wrote again after he claimed that it failed to clarify whether it was shipped to Britain’s products with cotton from Xinjiang, an area linked to the use of coercive use.

Shen has faced allegations of bad work practices in her supply chain, but she repeatedly said that she has a “policy bearing zero” regarding forced work.
